Back to Black

For 2009 I'm going back to my fave hair color blue black.  I like to color my hair black for the fall/winter and a burgundy for the spring/summer. 2007 I went to the Dominican Republic and came back with seriously noticeable red hair. Toward the end of 2008 I cut a lot of the color out but the ends were still red and I was tired of it. I either use Feria or Garnier but the beauty supply didn't have them so I picked up my stand by  Bigen.

See the color on the ends...

I used 2 boxes of Bigen which was just the right amount for my hair...

My tools: plastic cap, bowl spoon and gloves.

Once you mix it with water you get a pretty purple concoction...

 Color applied...

Put my plastic cap on and chill for 30-45 minutes...

All rinsed out , no more red ends!

Deep condition with Elasta QP DPR11 mixed with coconut oil

Results...

 No flash

I love it! There is a purple black by Feria that I want to try but I haven't seen it anywhere. I do know they sell it overseas. I don't but from overseas sellers so I'm still debating on whether or not I'm going to get it.

Omigosh, your hair is so beautiful! I love the length & the colour too. Did you use a permanent color? or semi-permanent? I've never thought to colour my hair from a box by myself. I've been to chicken to try it... anyway, your hair looks gorgeous & lush.

@ African- American Brides - Bigen is one of my faves! A good ole faithful that never fails me!

@AnyaPosh - Thanks - It's a permanent color. I go between permanent and rinses. Sebastian makes a really nice black cherry rinse.

Hey girlie...i know this is late, but I want to go dark and i remembered your post! So i'm either going to rinse or die my hair black, but I'm not sure if I should choose blue-black or if there's another tone I should try...try and keep my skin tone in mind. what do you think>>

@ Alyssia - I find that black has a tendency if it’s too black to kinda wash you out and leave you looking pale. You may instead of a blue black try a black cherry or and a black that has hints of red in it for warmth. I think that would work for you.
