Review: Pantene Relaxed and Natural Daily Oil Cream Moisturizer & Deep Conditioning Mask

Pantene's Relaxed and Natural line is nothing new.  It's described as being
For women of color.  Advanced formulas to help make your hair up to 99% stronger against damage.

I never paid this line any attention because I thought it was a gimmick to get into brown girls wallets.  Like Pantene just realized that hey brown girls have hair too and they might actually like to wash and take care of it it so lets put it in a brown bottle with Women of Color across and they'll use it.  I use regular Pantene and when I did an ingredient check they seemed to same to me so I kept it moving.  I really had no intention of ever using this line until I kept hearing about how fabulous their hair mask was. It was like everywhere I turned folks were raving about it so when it was on sale at Target I figured it I could give it a try.  I also picked up their Daily Oil Cream Moisturizer.

Relaxed and Natural Daily Cream Oil Moisturizer

This daily treatment with jojoba, coconut oil, moisturizers and Pro-vitamins helps prevent breakage. Its conditioning Pro-V formula helps transform dry hair into moisturized hair.

Helps protect hair against damage to keep it beautiful and healthy-looking
Helps prevent hair damage and split ends
Seals in moisture and has essential oils

Breakage Defense Deep Conditioning Hair Mask

This conditioning treatment is a key part of Pantene Relaxed & Natural's next-generation Breakage Defense Collection with Multi-Pro-vitamin Complex especially designed for women of color. It not only nourishes your hair from root to tip, but this deep conditioning mask helps:

Repair damage to smoothness and protect hair against damage
Prevent shedding due to breakage

I can honestly say that I was pleasantly surprised and  happy with both these products.  I absolutely love the Cream Moisturizer! Alone it's fab, paired with a little coconut oil it's the best thing on earth!  It keeps my hair moisturized for days.  When I use it alone it left my hair soft and shiny, there are no feelings of dryness or greasiness.  The mask is up there with my beloved Holy Grail Elasta QP DPR11.  This stuff left my hair feeling and smelling wonderful!  I will definatly be purchasing it again. Have you tried the Relaxed and Natural Line? What did you think of it?

Mainting My Twistouts

Reiko! asked about some of my hair routines so here is the first in my hair series

I've been wearing a twistout for the past week. I like for my twistouts to maintain their shapes and since I sleep crazy the only way to do this for me to pin it down.

Step 1: Get long bobby pins

Step 2: Pin sides and back down. How many pins you use is up to you. I tend to use 12, 3 on each side and 6 in the back

Step 3: Put satin bonnet on. I prefer a bonnet because scarves don't stay on my head at all. They always end up on the floor. I like this particular bonnet because you can adjust it to how tight or loose you want it and there are no worries abut the elastic disappearing and it stays on my head. With traditional bonnets at some point the elastic always vanishes and it ends up all big and useless. I always end up making it fit with rubber bands and it too ends up on the floor next to the scarf.

You're good to go for the night!

Next day...my twistout is smashed against my ahead so I need to revive it.

I do this one of 3 ways. 1. Take the pins out give my hair a fluff and a shake 2. Apply spritz and moisturizer then fluff, shake 3. Take all the pins out and let the steam from the shower plump my hair up then apply moisturizer then fluff and shake. Today I did 2.

Final results!

My spritz changes depending on what I feel like using. This batch was water, glycerin, rose water and Pantene Relaxed and Natural Daily Oil Cream Moisturizer. I follow that with my moisturizer of the moment which is Pantene Relaxed and Natural Daily Oil Cream Moisturizer (review to follow). I also do the same thing when I'm wearing twists. I'm serious when I tell you I sleep crazy...lol

NOTD 9/14 and Sally Hansen Update

Per a request from Miss Anjela here is the nail color I'm wearing for the next week or until it chips to embarrassing proportions.  OPI's Expresso Your Style!  It's a really pretty shimmery brown.

Update on Sally Hansen Diamond Shine Base & Top Coat

before

6 days later

Keep in mind I had cleaned my bathroom and kitchen (I can never remember to put gloves on while I'm cleaning) and washed my hair so I think after all that the chipping wasn't bad.

I've been wearing this top coat now for a month and I'm really happy with it.  I can go a week before I start to chip. When I do start to chip it's around the edges and not really noticeable unless you too far in my personal space.  It's a keeper!!

FOTD 9/8

I finally stopped staring lovingly at the Tempting quad and actually used it. I love this quad!!

I picked up some things from our CCO field trip

MAC Paint in Mauvism – So pretty!! A shimmery purple.

Mac Pigment in Dark Soul – I love this color!! I’ve been trying to find a black with a shimmer. The ones I have are ashy and this one has so much sparkle to it. It even looks like a totally different shade the more you apply it and depending on the lighting.

MAC Shadow in Romping – A pretty pinky/purple shadow

MAC Brow Gel in Show Off

Swatches...

Romping, Dark Soul, Mauvism and Show Off

Afterwards Slverlips, her sister and The Unrealistic Designer (not pictured) and I took a trip to Ulta.  Of course I had to get some things.

NYC Brush on Brow Kit in Brunette – This combined with the brow gel looks really nice. I have a slight obsession with that polished, sharp brow so I’m going play around with the two until I get it to the point where I can leave the house and not look like a fool.

Loreal Blendable Blushing Creme in Blushing and Elated  - Only a few places sell these in my area, well used to sell them.  I really think they're being phased out here because I can rarely find them.  So you know when I saw them on clearance I had to get them!

The day was a lot of fun as was expected I can't wait for next month!!!
