It's Been a Long Time....

I hadn't realized that I let this much time past since my last post. I had big plans too but once again work got in the way. Let's consider this a do over...

My favorite shadow color is purple. I don't know what it is about it but my go to stand by never let me down color is always something purple.

New HIP, New HIP, New HIP

Well I don’t know how new it is exactly but it was new to me so I figured maybe it was new to some of y’all too.

I was in Target trying to find some hooks so I can hang some ornaments on my tree which they did not have. Target apparently got a memo no one else did and started to break down the Christmas section early. They had no hooks what so ever so I’m trying to understand why sell ornaments if you’re not going to sell hooks to hang them with. Luckily I’ve watched enough HGTV so I MacGyvered a solution.

As I always do I made a quick stop to the makeup aisle to see what they had to offer and low and behold what do I see...

HIP Color Presso- Customize your own lip gloss shades

It comes in 10 shades - Swanky, Trendy, Chic, Fashionista, Snazzy, Classy, Spunky Ritzy, Stylish and Posh

Concept is simple enough, squeeze either side of the little tube until you get the color that sets your heart a flutter or layer it with another Color Presso to seriously get your motor running.

These loose powder liners come in Navy, Brown, Gold, Teal, Black and Burgundy

I’m very leery of any brown HIP liner since the crème one literally looks like dried poo. The gold, teal and especially the burgundy are very pretty colors.

Both retail for 11.99 and can be found at Target, Walgreens and at some point CVS. Now if they’re 11.99 at Target I’m guessing they’ll be 13-14 elsewhere. Now if only hip would add some new shadow colors...

I got tagged by Kia to show some pink love for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  I know it's November 1st but it's never too late to bring awareness for breast cancer.

My new love of the moment, Love Joy by MAC...ummm...technically isn’t pink at all but I swear it looks pink to me; my all time favorite blush is Milani’s Sunset Rose. It truly gives you a fresh faced look.

 

MAC shadows in Romping and Expensive Pink, though we don’t always get along it’s still one of my faves; Manish Arora Palette, the jewel encrusted casing is so pretty and the main reason why I got it.

Sinful Colors Berry Charmed.  This is a serious burgundy, very pretty. 

Milani Lip Gloss in Sugar Sugar.  This is a really pretty shimmery brown

 

Urban Decay XXX Shine Cooling Lip Gloss in Love Junkie.  This looks a lot darker in the tube but it's a very actually very light in real life.  Since this is a "cooling lip gloss"  It tingles when you apply it and can feel like a thousand tiny pins stabbing your lips.  Well...that's what it felt like to me...

 

MAC's Port Red Lipstick 

 

How about a combo of Port Red and Berry Charmed.  I really like this combo together.

I went to see the Starflash Collection and out of my list of what to get I only ended up with Bold & Brazen, which I love! I have mixed feelings about the first look. I like it but I felt Jesse's Girl Shadow wasn't dark enough for a crease color, I was expecting it to be darker. So...I redid it again today.

New HIP and a Lash Hot Comb

I love Lucky Magazine, it's one of my favorites! So I'm looking through the August issue and and 2 things catch my eye... The first was a Loreal HIP ad. I see they have jumped on the metallic shadow train and have come out with Metallic Duos.

I haven't seen them in any of my local drugstores but I know some ladies have bought them. I'll pick up couple during the next BOGO sale.

The second was for Revlon's Gentle Heat Curler. Apparently I've been living under a rock and heated eyelash curlers are nothing new since my google search turned up a lot. Concept is simple before you apply your mascara you heat this little doohickey up and comb it through your lashes. First thing I thought was are they serious a hot comb for your lashes. Second thing was what if you burn your lashes off. I don't think it gets that hot but I can be a tad extreme sometimes. The Revlon curler is the twin of the Sephora Heated Lash Curler but it retails for $10 instead of $16. For some reason I would try this but the SpinLash I stay away from. Go figure....
