I love Lucky Magazine, it's one of my favorites! So I'm looking through the August issue and and 2 things catch my eye... The first was a Loreal HIP ad. I see they have jumped on the metallic shadow train and have come out with Metallic Duos.
Fly high into a metallic world of color with HiP™ high intensity pigment Metallic Duos. Rich, high pearl shades are full of intense luminosity. On the Left: Intensely Luminous Shades to Shadow On the Right: Deeper, Dramatic Shades to LineHiP™ Metallic Shadow Duos create crease-resistant, long-wearing metallic effect. And like all HiP™ high intensity pigment products all five duos pack more pigment—for elegant or edgy looks that let you wing it.
The second was for Revlon's Gentle Heat Curler. Apparently I've been living under a rock and heated eyelash curlers are nothing new since my google search turned up a lot. Concept is simple before you apply your mascara you heat this little doohickey up and comb it through your lashes. First thing I thought was are they serious a hot comb for your lashes. Second thing was what if you burn your lashes off. I don't think it gets that hot but I can be a tad extreme sometimes. The Revlon curler is the twin of the Sephora Heated Lash Curler but it retails for $10 instead of $16. For some reason I would try this but the SpinLash I stay away from. Go figure....

July 14, 2008 at 10:57 AMFunny, I was going to pick up one of the HiP Jelly Balms plus two of those metallic duos in Platinum and Glided. I'll just put them on my wishlist for now! Are you going to purchase any and are you going to try the Revlon heated eyelash curler? Please let us know what's up! :)
July 14, 2008 at 11:17 AM@ yummy - at first I couldn't figure out if they were new or old since they look like old colors. I actually think they are revamped older colors.
I really don't have a need to for curler either but the gadget junkie in me wants to try it out.
@ anjela - I really like Gilded and Gunmetal. I haven't seen the jelly blams yet so I'll be on the lookout for them.
Still not sure about the curler. I want to try it but I rarely use the regular curler I have now...lol

Oh yeah, the Walgreens near me is having a BOGO sale..so you might want to visit the site and put in your zip code to see if you can get a great deal. It ends on the 19th. :)
July 14, 2008 at 1:21 PMBTW, why did I type Glided instead of Gilded?? Man, that PT really messed me up, lol!!
I am also addicted to Lucky Magazine. I'd be interested in knowing how you pull off metallic shadows because sometimes I just make a big disaster:(
July 14, 2008 at 3:18 PM@ anjela - There isn't a Walgreens near me. So I'll check out CVS or Ulta. They're always having sales.
@ amina - Lucky is one of the few magazines that I read cover to cover lol
I was thinking that the shadows might be a metallic nightmare but the colors look so pretty and keep calling me.

I've been searching for those stupid duos and the lip jelly for three weeks now. SIGH!
July 17, 2008 at 12:19 PM@ juvenescent - CVS has them now. The one I went had 2 lip jelly displays and one metallic shadow display. Of course the shadow display was more than half empty.
